TJC welcomes the upcoming Senate Judiciary, Subcommittee on the Constitution Field Hearing, to be chaired by Senator Laphonza R. Butler on racial discrimination in voting in Alabama and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act which is scheduled for March 1st in Montgomery, Alabama during the Selma Jubilee Weekend.
This show will spotlight today’s political issues and challenges that GenZ and YM voters are facing. This show will spotlight how young voters are overcoming policy concerns in the 2024 Election Cycle and directing their determination to voting. The program will address frustration faced by young voters in making advancements on Student Loan Debt Forgiveness, Wrongful Prosecution of Black Elected Officials, lack of Investments in Black and Brown Communities and the fight for GenZ/YM elected representation nationally.

This week we will discuss the March 27th TJC and Allies’ Prayer Vigil and Rally for the Arbery Family; Mississippi Police Department Indictments; and, “Brave Cave” developments. The epidemic of hate crimes in the United States continues to grow. Most hate crimes still are hate crimes against African Americans.
This week's show will discuss three of these events. Diane Arbery Jackson will review the last week’s March 27th TJC and Allies’ Prayer Vigil and Rally for the Arbery Family at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Our April 9 show features special guests D. Angel Edwards, Pastor Chauncey D. Brown, Sadijah Wallace, and Gisela Alvizures to review their experience being trained during the Transformative Justice Coalition’s Gen Z and Millennial Voting Rights Leadership Training held April 2nd - 8th in Phoenix, Arizona. This event prepared 47 young people to be non-partisan voting rights advocates in their communities, with 19 panels with 37 expert speakers, the HBCU All-Stars Game, networking and debrief dinner discussions, a reception, and a community activation project.
Today's show will focus on the issue of the naming of monuments and structures after slaveholders and racist Americans, that if funded by public taxpayer money. Maryland holds the fourth highest percentage of African American citizens in America. It is the only state in America with an African American Governor. Maryland also boasts an African American women as the Speaker of the House. Yet Maryland taxpayers have supported the naming of monuments after people who stood for slavery and against the advancement and inclusion of African Americans.
