The Igniting Change Radio Show on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Eastern Time, entitled, “Rolling Out The Vote for the November 7th Elections in Kentucky and Ohio! Part 3”, will be live from Kentucky
During our show, we will discuss the November 7th election turnout and challenges that voters confronted and overcame. Barbara, Daryl, and guests will also discuss the Jackson election debacle in Mississippi in which thousands of voters were denied the opportunity to cast a ballot. They will discuss next steps for addressing the Mississippi failures.
This week’s show will follow up on Igniting Change’s October 3rd coverage of the secretive and horrific operation of the “Brave Cave” black site in Baton Rogue which for more than a decade was used by Baton Rogue police officers to torture, brutalize and sexually assault hundreds of Black “suspects” prior to formal arrest or processing.
This week’s show will highlight the horrendous ruling by the 8th Circuit that there is no private right of action to sue under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
“Abuse of Governmental Power: The Wrongheaded Prosecution of the Florida 5 and the Florida Attorney General’s Betrayal of the Voting Rights Act and the Citizens of Florida”, will be live with Radio Show Co-Hosts and Transformative Justice Coalition (TJC) Co-Leaders Attorneys Barbara Arnwine, Esq. and Daryl Jones, Esq. and guests Adora Obi Nweze, Dianne Wilkerson, Lauren Rodriguez and other members of the Tampa 5.
This week’s show will cover two very distinct but connected stories based on the fight to build a nation where all residents have an opportunity to live in dignity, reach their full potential and exercise unadulterated political power free of economic and racial discrimination.
This show will spotlight organizations and individuals at the national and local levels who are working to help homeless youth and will discuss what causes youth homelessness; how to prevent youth homelessness; what YOU can do to assist youth who are homeless or housing insecure this holiday season and all year long; and, more.
This show will focus on a review of 2023 and its major racial and social justice happenings. In particular, we will look at media coverage: what it got wrong; what it got right; and, what it missed altogether. This show will also discuss how to raise public awareness, consciousness, and activism regarding important matters that are not highlighted in the national public debate.
