The Igniting Change Radio Show will discuss the privately funded efforts to preserve African American History and the government’s responsibility to funding the full and complete story of American History. Today’s panel represents experts in African American History as well as former elected officials that will discuss the community and governmental value of telling the whole story of American history.
The Igniting Change Radio Show will discuss the Senate Bill 5167 that focuses on a reparations study named for Charles Mitchell and George Washington Bush, two historical Black figures in Washington State. The bill is part of a broader effort by the Washington Equity Now Alliance (WENA) to advocate for equity policies and reparations studies. The Washington State Legislature has allocated $300,000 to fund this study, marking a significant step toward addressing historical injustices. WENA has been actively supporting this initiative and other equity-related policies in the state.

The Igniting Change Radio Show will discuss our condolences to the victims and families of the victims of yesterday’s terror attack in Boulder, Colorado at the Pearl Street pedestrian mall. Following up on our show on reparations, on the first official Tulsa Race Massacre Observance Day, Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols announced the creation of the Greenwood Trust, a $105 million private charitable initiative aimed at repairing the generational harm caused by the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
The Igniting Change Radio Show will begin with guest Leah Greeberg, the co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible. The No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance is a protest movement organized by Indivisible and other pro-democracy groups in response to Donald Trump’s military parade on June 14, which coincides with Flag Day and the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. The protests aim to reject authoritarianism and emphasize grassroots democracy, with events planned across the country.
The Igniting Change Radio Show will feature an exclusive interview with Congressman Jonathan Jackson. The show will focus on Congressman Jackson’s perspectives on what is required of everyone in our nation at this time to address the unlawful actions of the current Administration, including the complicity of Congress. We will discuss this past Saturday’s NoKings Mass Mobilization, the RPC Convention, opposition to the SAVE ACT and the Big Ugly Bill and more. Following this interview, our other guests, Betty Magness of RPC, Denise Poloyac, Indivisible Chicago Vice Chair, and Edward Ward will join Congressman Jackson in conversation about the NoKings movement and the upcoming July 17th John Lewis “GoodTroubleLivesOn” National Day of Action.
