Quentin D. Pullen, known as Coach Q (Quentin only to his momma), is an Athletic Performance Coach, Movement Therapist, and motivational speaker with a Marine Corps foundation and a master’s degree in GRIT earned through real life and real leadership. He holds a B.S. in Business Management (Telecommunications) and a degree in Physical Therapy, but his true calling is helping people move better, think stronger, and live with purpose.

Born in Atlanta, Coach Q spent 30 years in California sharpening his craft and expanding his civic reach, even running for Mayor in 2020. In 2024, he ran for Fayette County Commissioner and now serves as Vice President of the Fayette County NAACP, a board member of 50501GA, an active Kiwanian, and a mentor in Fayette County Schools. He’s also a proud graduate of Leadership Fayette 2025.

With over 25 years in health and fitness and 20+ certifications, Coach Q brings a unique mix of science, soul, and accountability to every client and audience. He’s coached competitive athletes, mentored youth, and helped everyday folks reclaim their health — all while living his own message (just ask about his honeymoon Sexy Legs Contest trophy).

INTRODUCTION:

Hi Igniters For Change! The Igniting Change Radio Show on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Eastern Time, entitled “Good Trouble Lives On: Standing Tall in Difficult Times”, will be live with Radio Show Co-Hosts and Transformative Justice Coalition (TJC) Co-Leaders Attorneys Barbara Arnwine, Esq. and Daryl Jones, Esq. and will feature special guests Quentin D. Pullen (Coach Q); Adrian Consonery Jr.; and, Dr. Bryon Clay.

On July 17, we honor the anniversary of the passing of civil rights icon John Lewis—not with ceremonies, but with action. Across the country, we will take to the streets and into communities to uplift our non-violent struggle for justice, voting rights, just multiracial democracy, and dignity for all. This is more than a protest—this is a moral reckoning; a fight against voter suppression; a fight against racial division; a fight against Medicare and Medicaid cuts and all other social safety net budget cuts and a fight to protect our Constitutional Freedoms, a continuation for Congressman John Lewis’ legacy and a new front in the freedom struggle; this is a movement for Democracy!

Through the tremendous efforts of TJC, Indivisible, Declaration for American Democracy (DFAD), Public Citizen, Black Voters Matters, League of Women Voters, Southern Poverty Law Center, The Leadership Conference for Human and Civil Rights, 50501, and 170 other organizational partners, the July 17th John Lewis “Good Trouble Lives On” Mass Mobilization is reaching unprecedented heights. At the time of the writing of this show description, there are 785+ John Lewis National Day of Action events, confirmed (612) or pending (190, with more to come). We urge all interested in hosting an event, volunteering, or participating in an event to please sign up at GoodTroubleLivesOn.org

Our show will feature the great organizing being done by many local organizers to make July 17th a major success. For the beginning of the show, we will welcome Dr. Bryon Clay, a leader of the New National Christian Leadership Movement (NNCLM), who worked with former Congressman John Lewis throughout the decades. The NNCLM is comprised of 2,500 churches in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The NNCLM is one of the newest partners of the John Lewis “Good Trouble Lives On” National Day of Action.

Last week, our show featured the organizers from the July 17th flagship event that will be held in Chicago. This week, we are happy to feature the organizers of the July 17th anchor event in Atlanta. It is our pleasure to welcome to the show for the first time Quentin D. Pullen (Coach Q), board member of 50501 Georgia. We also welcome fellow organizer and returning guest, TJC Fellow, and Founder of Lyfeline Initiative Inc, Adrian Consonery Jr.

On Thursday July 3rd at 7:00 PM Eastern Time, TJC is holding its weekly “July 17th Organizing Meeting” for everyone who wants to participate. TJC is also offering a number of trainings to help people make their events as successful and impactful as possible. People can sign up at GoodTroubleLivesOn.org
