Candace Liger, originally from Greenville, Mississippi, Candace Liger is a mother of two, a nationally recognized performance artist, a certified fitness trainer & coach, and the Co-Founder of OKC Artists for Justice–a grassroots organization founded to provide advocacy for women of color involved in the Daniel Holtzclaw case. In 2014, she ranked 8th in the nation through the Women of the World Poetry Competition and has graced the stage with renowned artists such as HBO Def Poets Sunni Patterson, Blaq Ice, and more. Additionally, she has used her dynamic voice as an active community leader extensively involved in initiatives including advocacy for women of color, health promotion and education, and cultural art programs and performances. She has been featured on National outlets such as TV One & For-Harriet, NPR, and more. Candace believes the necessity of health, activism, and expression are key components in living a holistic and purposeful lifestyle.
