Ria WashingtonRia Thompson-Washington is a rising 3L attending the University of the District of Columbia David A Clarke School of Law. On campus she serves as a student leader in multiple positions, both as President of the John C. Brittain chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and co President of OUTLaw, an LQBTQIA student organization. Additionally, Ria holds a national position as National Vice President of the National Lawyers Guild. She has been a community organizer since 2005 when she began working in the labor movement in San Antonio, TX. Daughter of a sharecropper and an emigrant, public interest advocacy and social justice movement lawyering are the ways Ria protests the inequitable society by which she was raised.
