618e5762412544e7900cb324a9a78419Pat Bryant is a freedom fighter who has done Freedom Movement work in several capacities across the South in rural places and cities. He was a youth movement organizer in the 1960’s where he did campus organizing and community organizing. In the 1970’s Pat was an urban planner and college professor. He worked as a journalist for several newspapers and Editor of Southern Exposure Magazine where he edited two books “Mark of the Beast”, a history of the Ku Klux Klan, and “Stayed of Freedom” a history of the 1950 and 60’s Civil Rights Movement. He directed the Gulf Coast Tenants Organization for 20 years, was one of the architects of the Environmental Justice Movement. Pat is the husband of New Orleans Judge Clare Jupiter, father of Michele, Nia and Kwame, and grandfather of Michelle, Ariel, Ayanna, and Amani.
