Our show this week will highlight Election Day 2016! Igniting Change will broadcast live from the Voting Rights Alliance’s Voter Protection Command Center! As we air live on Tuesday afternoon, our show will report on the status of voting around the nation. The Command Center is devoted to assisting organizations and voters needing advice and assistance. You can call the Command Center to discuss problems and get advice at 202-536-5400. Our guests will include Joel Segal, a national leader of the Justice Action Mobilization Network and volunteers at the Command Center who will discuss reports from organizations and voters throughout the nation about their experiences voting on Election Day!
This election season has seen unprecedented obstacles placed in the path of voters to the polls. We have also witnessed unparalleled courage and dedication to our democracy by voters who have withstood long lines, voter intimidation, deceptive practices, registration problems, and much more, setting a new turnout record! Our show will celebrate the role of African Americans, Latinos, Asians, Native Americans and women in shaping the outcome of this Election 2016.
During this show, you will receive a mid-day assessment of how voters are faring on Election Day. Most voters should have a good voting experience but in parts of the nation voters will need support, encouragement and assistance. Let’s document voter suppression, voting irregularities, machine malfunctions so that Congress can take action in the months and years to pass needed legislation to fix the Voting Rights Act, address voter intimidation and deceptive practices and fix our voting machines!
We salute all of the 43 million Americans who have already cast ballots during early voting and absentee voting. And we look forward to assisting the 80-90 million voters yet to vote.
Be sure to spread the word about the special assistance available at the Voting Rights Alliance for organizations and individuals at 202-536-5400.
Tune in on Tuesday, November 8th, in the DC Metro Region at WOL 1450 AM and worldwide at www.BarbaraArnwine.com.
You don’t want to miss this show!
