MarkDunham-300x300Mark Anthony Dunham, Jr., serves as the 2016-2017 Mid-Atlantic Regional Chair for the National Black Law Students Association (“NBLSA”). In this role, he exercises general executive authority over the business, activities, and initiatives of the Mid-Atlantic Region of NBLSA, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Southern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. In addition, he presides over the operations of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Board.

Mr. Dunham is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from American University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, specializing in American Government. While at American University, Mr. Dunham served in a number of different leadership roles, including being the Speaker of the Student Government’s Undergraduate Senate, the Chairman of the Student Judicial Board, President of the American University Residence Hall Association, and Secretary General of the American University Model United Nations Conference. Mr. Dunham was also initiated into the Beta Beta Theta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, where he served as Chapter Secretary, Chapter President and, later, Vice President and President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of American University.

Mr. Dunham is currently a third-year evening student at the American University Washington College of Law, where he also serves as Executive Vice President of the Student Bar Association and as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. In addition to his academic and extracurricular pursuits, Mr. Dunham is employed full-time as the Manager of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), where he works on legal, regulatory, and operational advocacy efforts with executives from leading retail corporations. Prior to serving on the National Executive Board, Mr. Dunham was the MABLSA Sub-Regional Director for Washington DC and Maryland, as well as President of the American University Washington College of Law BLSA Chapter.

Mr. Dunham enjoys spending time playing chess, reading, cooking (and eating), and developing a greater appreciation for the artistry of jazz and winemaking.
