This week’s show on December 13th, 12:00-1:00 PM EST, will broadcast live from the People’s Democracy Conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The People’s Democracy Conference is a forum for those concerned about the preservation of our democracy; the destructive influence of voter suppression; the rise of Hate in our society; and the troubling appointment and nomination of white supremacists for positions in the incoming Trump Administration.
Our special guests will include panelists from the conference, especially from the states hard hit by voter suppression, including Mr. Fred Royal, President, Milwaukee NAACP; Rev. David Alexander Bullock, Highland Park, Michigan NAACP; and Rev. Sadler of the NC Moral Majority Movement.
Disturbingly, post the November Elections, five states are already pursuing new voter suppression legislation! In addition, hate crimes continue to be spiked nationwide. And PEOTUS Donald Trump not only is standing by the appointment of white supremacist, Steve Bannon, he has also continued to nominate other white supremacists and anti-civil rights persons for key posts!
The Conference attendees will have an opportunity to congregate with others concerned about voter suppression, racism, hate and the disturbing appointments and policies of the Trump Administration. We will discuss how to build unity and strategies to defeat these obstacles while building towards the capacity to win in 2017, 2018 and beyond!
