Our show on Tuesday, July 4th, 12:00-1:00 PM will focus on two major threats for all Americans: President Trump’s Election Integrity Commission/Voter Suppression Commission and the Senate’s dangerous proposals to enact a horrible version of the ACHA leaving 22 million Americans without coverage or to repeal the ACA leaving 32 million Americans uncovered.
Our special guest will be Joel Segal, Executive Director North Carolina Climate Solutions Coalition and a leader of the Voting Rights Alliance other guests.
How can our listeners fight these two serious threats? Headed by VP Pence and Kansas SOS Chris Kobach, who has been rebuffed by the federal courts for attempted voter suppression, this Commission is replete with members like Ken Blackwell who support voter suppression.
Already the President’s Voter Suppression Commission has caused national controversy by demanding the states provide it with a list of all voters, their addresses, social security numbers, party affiliations and recent voting records! And the transfer of these databases would be unsecured leading to identity theft and possible intimidation. Fortunately, 40 states have said no to this thinly disguised effort to find evidence to justify a nationalized Interstate Cross Check voter purging system.
Where do we go from here? How do we support HR 3029 introduced by Congressman Marc Veasey which would block any federal funding of this Commission. What else can be done about the 10 states which have not said No to this demand.
Next week, on July 11th, the Senate will reconvene with an agenda to pass their proposed horrific legislation to Repeal and Replace the Affordable Care Act which would deny coverage to 22 million Americans over the upcoming years! Worst, there is talk of a new plan to Repeal the ACA without a replacement which would deny coverage to 32 million people!
We will discuss how to fight these deadly proposals. You can take action this week to reach your Senators in their home districts to urge a No vote on ACHA and a No vote on Repeal!! Also, everyone can call the Senate switchboard and reach your Senator at 202-224-3121.
Be sure to listen on Tuesday, July 4th, 12:00-1:00 PM in the Washington DC Metro Region on WOL 1450 AM or on the Internet at www.BarbaraArnwine.com.
Spread the Word!!
