November 22, 2016

Our show on Tuesday, November 22nd, will celebrate the one year of accomplishments of the Transformative Justice Coalition and the major role this organization will need to play in the coming years to counter the racially unjust and misguided policies of the incoming Trump Administration. In the two weeks following the election of Donald Trump, he has made a series of announcements for his transition team, White House team and Cabinet nominations. Disconcertingly, some of his most prominent nominees are prominent White supremacists. The civil rights and racial justice community are organizing to force the rescission of these announcements or defeat of nominations. In addition, counter to expectations of moderation, President Elect Trump and leaders of his team have reinforced their intent to impose a Muslim registry and deport millions of undocumented immigrants. Our guests will include Brenda Ford Harding, Chair of the Board of the
Transformative Justice Coalition; Terry O’Neill, President of the National Organization for Women; and other prominent civil rights attorneys.

Our show will review the impact of the Transformative Justice Coalition over these last 14 months in the areas of Voting Rights, Policing Restructuring, Youth Leadership Development and African American Women and the Law. We will discuss how this vital programming and work of TJC will be instrumental in shoring up the
Resistance movement to defeat the unconstitutional and racially unjust policies of the Trump Administration.

We will discuss the White supremacist backgrounds of Steve Bannon (appointed as Senior Advisor to Donald Trump), Kris Kobach (possible nominee for Secretary of Homeland Security) and Sen.Jeff Sessions (nominee for Attorney General)and why they don’t deserve to have any role in any White House or federal administration.

We will provide information on how you can become involved in the movement to oppose these nominees and Trumpism.

We will also explore how the Trump victory and his announcements have unleashed waves of individual hate against Latinos, Muslims, Blacks, Asians, LGBTQIA and other Americans. We will examine how Trumpism has
emboldened the Klu Klux Klan and other white supremacists both domestically in the US and worldwide.

And we will preview the upcoming People’s Conference being sponsored by the TJC and the Voting Rights Alliance to be held December 13th in Washington, D.C.
